The default subtitles provided by YouTube are often of lower quality, which can negatively impact the plugin's translation. For example: 1. The subtitles themselves may contain errors (e.g., "docker" might be recognized as "doer"). 2. The subtitle timeline can be disordered. 3. Audio-video sync issues might occur when using the plugin. To address these problems, the plugin offers exclusive optimized subtitles and classifies different sources by color: 1. Red: Auto-generated subtitles from YouTube or Bilibili—usually lower quality, prone to the issues mentioned. 2. Yellow: Subtitles uploaded by the video creator—generally higher quality than auto-generated ones. 3. Green: Subtitles recognized and optimized by AI technology based on your viewing history.

The plugin automatically optimizes the subtitles in the background based on your viewing history. Once optimization is complete, you’ll receive an email notification. When you watch the video again, the plugin will use the optimized subtitles (the button will appear green).

The plugin can optimize subtitles at approximately one-tenth of the original video length. For instance, a 60-minute video generally takes about 5–6 minutes to optimize.

1. Free users have a daily limit on the number of videos they can watch, while paid users have no limit. 2. Paid users can view subtitles recognized and optimized by AI—these retain background audio, support identifying multiple speakers, and allow assigning unique voices per speaker. Free users do not have access to this feature. 3. Paid users can use the Gemini model for translation without additional quota charges; free users do not have this option. 4. A paid membership is required for using AI translation and Azure TTS. Free users only have access to Google Translate and Edge TTS.

Currently, AI translation is not supported for subtitles marked with the red button (auto-generated by the platform) because those subtitles are often of lower quality, potentially leading to wasted translation quota. Therefore, AI translation is only available for videos with yellow or green buttons. If a video shows a red button, you can wait until the plugin has optimized and recognized the subtitles in the background. After receiving the email notification, the updated (optimized) subtitles will be ready to use.
